There are many countries that
have museums with classic cars as exhibits and there are many
millionaires that have classic cars in their collections but
there is one country where you can see more than one classic
cars parking. The variety of old classic cars can be seen on the
Cuba’s streets. The streets are full of cars dating from the
20th century’s first half. These very well kept cars make you
travel back in time feeling the atmosphere of the old cities. In
Cuba the American classic cars represent for many people the
only transportation way. In this country are over 60.000 classic
cars from the 40s and the 50s and the most of them are in very
good conditions. 50% of these cars are dating from 1950 period,
25% of them from 1940 and the rest of 25% from 1930 period.
Among the cars that can be seen in the classic cars parking are
the Chrysler, the Cadillac, the Ford, the Chevrolet, the Buicks,
the Dodge and the Plymouth. The Ford Motor Company was founded
in 1903, on June 16, when Henry Ford with other eleven
associates incorporated the articles of the company. The initial
budget of the company was of $28.000; it was the beginning of
one of the biggest corporations in the automobiles industry. In
1911, on November 3, the first model of Chevrolet appeared on
market. Since then Chevrolet become a very trusted brand used by
millions of people from all over the world. The old classic
American cars matter is almost like a cliché about Cuba. It
exceeds the El Comandante Che Guevara and the foppish ladies
with huge cigars in the mouth` s corner that sit in shadow in
the tourist downtown of the capital and let themselves
photographed for some pesos. |
