over nine thousand square kilometres and a population of over
one million. Holguin is located in the south eastern part of
Cuba. The province has for capital city Holguin. Christopher
Columbus arrived on the coast of Holguin in October 1492, when
he landed he said that this place was the beautiful area seen by
human. Holguin was founded in 1978 when it split from Oriente
region. Holguin has numerous attractions and beautiful beaches.
The province of Holguin has fourteen municipalities which are
Holguin, Antilla, Urbano Noris, Moa, Banes, Gibara, Rafael
Freyre, Sagua de Tanamo, Frank Pais, Cacocum, Baguanos, Mayari,
Buenavetura, Cueto. |
