One of the most magnificent
landscapes in Vinales is without any doubt that of its luxuriant
gorges. Midway between the highest point and its depth, the
visitor admires the stunning scenery which unfolds in front of
his/her eyes at the viewpoint under the shelter of the kiosk.
The splendid scene leaves the visitor in disbelief. Within its
lush vegetation the royal palms towers the other plants with its
leaves at its top. The woody bushes, ferns, mosses and exotic
plants stand in perfect harmony in the ravine in an infinite
game of light and shade. Above the green canopy, the endemic
hummingbirds like the Cuban trogon, the tody, the Cuban
solitaire, in their natural habitat fly from their nest either
to feed their siblings or to search for food. Together with the
’mogotes’, the rounded tops mountains and the limestones cones
with their rocky slopes, the birds singing their eternal
symphony makes of the Vinales Gorges a peaceful relaxing spot in
Cuba. |
